Jennie Martinez is a sophomore at Basha High School. She is in honor’s classes and her favorite subject is science. Jennie’s passion is riding and competing with her trusted horse Y6. Jennie is proud to represent the Florence Jr. Parada Rodeo. Throughout the years Jennie has competed at the Florence Jr. Parada, and takes enormous pride being the queen for this outstanding organization. Jennie is the 2017 Arizona state champion barrel racer for the Arizona High School Rodeo Association. She is going to represent Arizona at the upcoming national championships in Gillette, WY. In 2016, Jennie was the all-around champion for the Chandler Vaqueros Saddle Club Association by ending the season number one in all three events: barrels, poles, and goat tying. Jennie is a member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and enjoys participating in the school events. She also enjoys spending time with her family boating and wakeboarding.

LACEY SHULTE
Lacey Schulte started riding at the age of 3 on her miniature pony Teddy. From the beginning she loved riding and being around horses. Also from an early age she fell in love with music. She plays the piano and has done many concerts over the years. Right now she is working on the Royal Conservatory Program which will result in extra credits for school. She has just started voice lessons and is excited about her vocal future. Over the years Lacey moved up to a pony from her miniature and now has her quarter horse "Leila". At 8 yrs old Lacey won the title of the Florence JR Parada Princess She had never before had a title and had no idea what to expect. Throughout this season she has gained mentors, friends and knowledge of what the rodeo means to our heritage. She started out at a trot and is now loping with the older girls. Working daily with her horse for these accomplishments. Lacey will be starting fourth grade in the fall and is excited to join band. Her favorite subject is math and she enjoys spending time with her friends. Although it is funny, her best friends have come from the music classes she enjoys so much and now the rodeo girls!
